Don’t Let Anyone Stop You From Jesus
Don’t allow the negative behaviours, beliefs and actions of others stop you from having your own personal relationship and friendship with Jesus.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d become a disciple of Jesus Christ.
For me, the very thought of Jesus was tied to religious oppression, misogynistic and patriarchal institutions that disliked women, where women were forbidden to teach or preach. It also seemed to me that anything spiritual or supernatural was often dismissed as demonic or evil by many Christians I encountered.
As a woman with spiritual and supernatural gifts, I often felt I would never be accepted in a church—that I would be seen as evil or an abomination to God and His people. I also witnessed a lot of judgmental, condemning, and abusive behavior from people who claimed to follow Christ, but whose actions were anything but Christlike.
The truth is, toxic religious institutions and judgmental church goers kept me from even considering a relationship with Jesus. Let’s just say I found some Christian places and people to be stumbling blocks for me.
But in late 2023, I had a profound and personal encounter with Jesus Himself. And I discovered He is not what I thought:
NOT a religion
NOT the patriarchy
NOT a misogynistic God
NOT abusive
NOT a hater or oppressor of women
He was none of the things I once feared.
What I found is that Jesus Christ is the living God—a God of incredible love, peace, healing, and freedom. A God who loves both men and women equally and uniquely, and who equips both to be His mouthpieces.
Jesus restored my relationship with God, renewed my spiritual and supernatural gifts in God, and planted me in a church full of people alive with the power of the Holy Spirit and on fire for the Lord. I fell in love with Jesus and with His authentic church. It was beautiful. I realized He was the living water of life I’d been seeking all along.
I also learned how important it is not to let others stop you from pursuing your own personal relationship and friendship with Jesus. He created a powerful bridge and gateway for us to have a direct personal relationship with God Himself.
There will always be people who say and do things “in Jesus’ name” but are not truly of Him. Jesus is a God of love and unity—not religion, hate and division.
Over time, I came to see that much of the church hurt, hate, division among denominations, and toxic patriarchal systems that oppress and demonize women are not of Jesus, but of the enemy (Satan).
So, I invite you to set aside the beliefs, experiences, and constructs that others may have placed around Jesus, and seek Him for yourself. Get to know Him personally. Develop a real relationship and friendship with Him that starts first and foremost in your very own heart.
As Jesus once taught me, what He desires most is friendship with you—not religious rites, rules, or rituals, but a heart willing to receive and abide in Him and His incredible love for you .
Trust.
Remember.
All is well.
I love you.
Yours in Christ,
Ellen
P.S. Below I share a brief testimony of how Jesus delivered me from the New Age/Witch movement and into the Kingdom of God’s love, peace, beauty, grace and freedom.
P.P.S. If you would like to have a relationship with God through Jesus, you can begin by saying the following prayer to invite Him into your life and heart -
God, I turn my heart to you now. I ask for your full forgiveness. I am done trying to live this life in my own will, ways and strength, Lord. Please set me free from all sin and sinful ways of living, and liberate me into Your pure heart and Kingdom of love, peace, truth, joy, beauty and grace, God. I now confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord (I AM) & Saviour (ETERNAL LOVE), and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead and that in Jesus I am gifted salvation and eternal life of resting in your love, peace and grace, God, as Your child. I now ask Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Father God to move into my heart, mind, body and spirit, heal me, and set me free from all the things that are not the Highest Love of God and align me with your wills, ways and purpose for me, God.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Thank you, God, for your blessing today and every day.
I love you.
(Romans 10:9)
Scripture To Reflect On
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)
✝️ Your relationship with Christ must come before the opinions of others.
Continue to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)
✝️ Each believer is responsible for their own walk with Jesus.
So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. (Romans 14:12)
✝️ At the end, you stand before God for yourself — not on behalf of others.
Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:37-38)
✝️ Even family ties must not stand in the way of following Jesus.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
✝️ Stay focused on Him, not on distractions or resistance from others.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
✝️ Don’t let religious traditions or man-made rules pull you away from the purity of Christ.
